I love this laundry basket trick because there comes a time when our old tummy down rhythms need a little spicing up to keep babe content on the floor. And at this point, novelty is key! But novelty doesn’t have to mean a trip to the toy store. Here are some fun ways to use a laundry basket to switch up tummy time!

You can even experiment with pulling the items up to higher holes to encourage lifting higher in tummy time and pressing through extended arms.

Note: this can also be used for sitting play, kneeling play, and eventually pulling to stand. Just remember to always supervise. I’ve also been warned that the inside of some basket holes can be sharp—a simple sanding block will take care of that!
