It goes without saying, but supervision is always required with this sweet connection time.

- On the couch
This position came in handy when I had a toddler running around the floor and needed a safe spot for babe. But many parents also use it when they’re hanging out watching TV or keeping babe up from dogs! This makes it so much easier for them to see their favorite thing… YOU.

- Tabletop Tummy Time
This is one of my favorite tricks because it also gives your baby an opportunity to observe social interactions and eating routines of your family!⁣

In a therapy world inundated with picky eaters, increased exposure to a variety of foods is crucial to normalizing mealtime for your babe. A recent review of several studies found “Parents powerfully shape children's early experiences with food and eating...Children's eating patterns develop in the early social interactions surrounding feeding...they are ready to learn to eat the foods of their culture's adult diet, and their ability to learn to accept a wide range of foods is remarkable, especially given the diversity of dietary patterns across cultural groups”⁣.

- With a Blanket
Roll up a baby blanket or burp cloth and place it under their upper chest, positioning their elbows just in front of it for support. This not only encourages them to support themselves but also makes it easiest to lift their head to see you. Over time, reduce the number of times you roll the prop to allow them to gradually build that strength independently!
